TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
ENTRIES OPEN DATE – Friday 1st September, 2023. 9am Sydney Australian time
CLOSING DATE – Saturday 21 October 2024 midnight Sydney Australian time
WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT – Saturday 28 October 2024 midnight Sydney Australian time (prizes not transferable to another person. As the first prize winner Series Two is required in Sydney October 28 2023 the first prize winner will know in advance of October 28 if they have won, however they are sworn to secrecy and will not divulge to media or socials of their win until after October 28th 2023

- Entry to be submitted online only
- Complete the entry form
- Submit an MP3 (audio file) and lyric sheet (doc or pdf format)
- If lyrics not in English provide full English translation (doc or pdf format)
- If instrumental ie no lyrics – include Doc or PDF on your inspiration behind instrumental
- Entry fee aud$22.50 per entry – no refunds
- only 1 entry per song – you can enter different songs as many times as you like
- Each entrant agrees to abide with the STGSSC competition rules
- No defamatory or inappropriate lyrics
- Open to all ages
- Entry forms are the property of STGSSC and will not be returned to the entrant
- Entrant must keep their own copy of their entry and MP3 with song lyrics
- If further proof of age is required by the organizers Entrant agrees to abide by this request and any further requests for either a legal release or indemnity form confirming their song does not infringe any copyright or any other rights of third parties and that all the necessary permissions to enter the song have been obtained
- Individual song cannot be entered more than once All types of songs (and songwriters) are eligible to enter. Song will be judged on the song only (not the production of the song involved) ie judging of the music & lyrics only
- Entries deemed invalid by the organizer will be immediately disqualified. It is the entrant’s responsibility to complete the entry form(s) and submit mp3(s) by the deadline Saturday 21 October, 2023 midnight Sydney Australian time
- If under 16 years of age entrant will if asked provide letter of authority from parent/guardian to enter competition
- All entries to be original lyrics to original audio (music)
- Must not infringe copyright of others.
- False declaration of copyright owners in entry process may result in disqualification of entry and no prize awarded
- All judging is final and not open to a review process
- Organizer is not responsible for late, lost or not received entries
- Entry must be submitted by the writer (or co-writer) of the song
NOTIFICATION:
- Confirmation of receipt of entry will be sent via the online entry platform (Song Central)
- Notification of winners will be by email and phone with a hard copy letter to follow
- Notification of all awards will be by email and phone with a hard copy letter to follow
- Notification of above winners/award winners will also be on the com website/socials & public releases
- Competition is a game of skill not a game of chance
PRIZES:
- Winners (if under 16) their parent/guardian) will be required to make a statutory declaration confirming their winning song is original and does not infringe any copyright or any other rights of third parties and that all necessary permissions to enter the song have been obtained. False declaration may result in disqualification of entry and no prize awarded.
- STGSSC reserve the right to extend or shorten the closing date if so required by the organizers
MAIN PRIZES:
- First prize aud$4,750 includes Mystery Prize (winner to be in Sydney October 28, 2023)
- Second prize aud$750
- Third prize aud$250
ADDITIONAL AWARDS: (organizer deserves right to modify in any way the additional awards as it sees fit at any time throughout the promotion) – additional interim awards are listed on the www.lionroarsmanagement.com website
- Where a prize is awarded and there is more than 1 songwriter involved, it is up to the winner to distribute the prize amongst their fellow songwriters. STGSSC and organizers are not liable in any way for this distribution process
- Prize is not transferable and cannot be exchanged. Organizer can cancel prize (s) at any time if entrant winner attempts to transfer it
- All or any taxes due are to be paid by respective winners
- All prizes where bank transfers are concerned will be done through a recognized bank in Australia with winner providing their bsb and account details and if overseas their swift code numbers. No other method of payment will be recognized.
PUBLIC RELATIONS:
- Entrants along with all winners of all categories agree and understand that their name and likeness and song and or mp3 may be published in the public domain in connection with the competition and future competitions, or related activities, without additional compensation
GENERAL DISCLAIMERS:
JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL – no correspondence, discussion, or explanation of any kind, will be entered into by the organizer or judges of the competition, on any matter relating to the conducting of the competition or the result.
The organizer or any party connected with the competition is not liable for any loss or damage direct or indirect, or personal injury, or other damage, as a result of entering, judging, running, cancellation or acceptance of enjoyment or use of the competition or the Prize or part thereof.
Entrant indemnifies organizer or any party connected with the competition, against all liabilities, losses, damages, costs and expenses (including all legal costs whether incurred or awarded) suffered or incurred by the organizer or any party connected with the competition, in relation to any breach by the Entrant of its obligations under these terms and conditions, loss or destruction of entry materials or postponement for any reason of the competition.
Entrant agrees to indemnify organizer, judging panel, or any party connected with the competition harmless for any liability, damage, claim for injury or loss to any person, property, relating to or in part, directly or indirectly, participating in the competition.
Governing Law is in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia and all Entrants irrevocably and unconditionally agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia
